On September 17th, guests gathered in the home of Susan Green and Prakash Mirchandani to support Emerge Lanka Foundation’s mission of empowering young women who have survived abuse to heal from their pasts and attain their goals through life skills, business knowledge, and savings.
Above, in the top photo, the Emerge team poses with hosts Susan Green (far left) and Prakash Mirchandani (far right). In the bottom right, Cathy Baldock, long-time Emerge supporter and favorite Emerge jewelry fashionista poses with Nirukshi de Lanerolle, Emerge Lanka’s dedicated Program Coordinator.
The evening featured a tasting of five wines from Valdivieso of Chile, graciously presented by “Grape Expectations” (by Favourite International) along with delicious cheeses and h’ordeuvres generously donated by Raffles Consolidated (Pvt) Ltd.
The event was a huge success, generating funds to sustain the program through donations as well as savings for program participants through jewelry sales. We’d especially like to thank the following groups and individuals who made the event possible:
Prakash Mirchandani and Susan Green- for opening their home to us for the event
Favourite International- for the delicious wine
Raffles Consolidated (Pvt) Ltd.- for incredible catering and service throughout the night
Lea Krivchenia- for volunteering for the evening to facilitate sales and being a long-term friend of Emerge and Emerge volunteers
Aksha Suares- for volunteering as our newest Emerginista
Ian Caddy- for sharing his gift of photography with us and capturing the event
We couldn’t have done it without you!
