Dinithi Dharmapala
Psychosocial Officer - Shelter Programme
Dinithi Dharmapala holds a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Clinical and Health Psychology, with professional experience spanning psychology, counter-terrorism, peacebuilding, psychosocial support, and organisational wellbeing.
She has worked across Sri Lanka, Malta, Qatar, and the Philippines, contributing to projects within the Counter-Terrorism and Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (CT/PCVE) space. Her experience includes work relating to ethnically motivated terrorism and religious radicalisation, with a particular focus on deradicalisation, rehabilitation, and reintegration. In addition to her work in the peacebuilding and counter-terrorism sector, Dinithi has experience in corporate HR and People & Culture, with a focus on employee mental health, wellbeing, and organisational practices that support healthier workplaces.
She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business and Organisational Psychology, where her research focuses on Microadvances — subtle, ambiguous behaviours carrying a covert sexual undertone that may function as a precursor to sexual harassment.
