Throughout our life, there are many people we meet, and few that we remember. There are those whose impressions on us last forever. Our lives are enriched by them. I have known Bryanne for over one year. Although she began as my boss, she became my friend. Bryanne was an amazing person, she was devoted completely to the girls of Emerge, as well as all abused girls in Sri Lanka. She became part of our family here, a role model to our girls, and a Sri Lankan by heart. It is wonderful to witness the impact that one person can make. When the day came that Bryanne had to say goodbye, the girls hugged her through their tears. She was no longer a foreigner, she was their big sister. The outward appearance as someone of a different race made no difference, it was from inside our hearts that we had made our connection.
We had a marvelous time.
Bryanne, I have so many things from my heart that I want to tell you, but words cannot express how wonderful you truly are. Thank you for what you have done for our team, Emerge Lanka Foundation, the girls, and this country. Please forgive the rats and bats which drove you crazy.
I know we will meet again. Until then, Goodbye Canadian Rose!
