Emerge Lanka is proud to be one of SOS Children’s Villages’ leading partners for their “18+” advocacy campaign, which launched in July and aims to increase support systems for youth leaving institutionalized care across the country. Two participants from the Emerge Center shared the importance of transitional support on video with over 100 person audience of ministers, government officials, representatives from the private sector, civil society, and media. After the convening, youth from across the country formed the “Generation Never Give Up” youth group. One of our past participants was elected as Secretary!
This December, we continued the conversations through an invitation to share our recommendations for improving care of children across the country in a session hosted by the Probation and Child Care Services on Alternative Care in Sri Lanka.
