This weekend, during the Emerge Mentorship Program, the girls took a trip around the world. Our mentors shared information about passports and visa processes, and conducted immigration conversation role-plays with the girls. We then all boarded an imaginary plane where we watched a clip of the plane’s takeoff on the projector. I’ll never forget the gasp and then giggle of one girl in the corner as we rose about the cloud line. Feeling so grateful for our mentors, who recreate little pieces of our world inside the shelter, who inspire gasps, giggles and awe, and who bring love and support to girls who desperately need it.
